Why eyelid hygiene matters

The glands along your eyelids help keep the tear film healthy. Gentle daily cleaning may help keep the lid margin clear of build-up, which can support overall eye comfort as part of a regular routine.

Think of it like any other part of a daily wash routine — a quick, gentle step that, done consistently, helps the eyelids stay clean and comfortable.

Using eyelid cleansers

Apply as directed, usually with a clean fingertip or pad along the closed lash line, then rinse if the product recommends it. Be gentle, avoid getting product directly in the eye, and use a fresh pad for each eye where relevant.

Many people find a warm compress beforehand makes cleansing more comfortable, softening any build-up before you gently wipe the lid margin.
