Eyelid Cleansers at City Optics

Keeping the eyelids and lash line clean is a simple part of caring for comfortable eyes. Eyelid cleansers are designed to lift away debris, makeup and build-up along the lid margin without harsh rubbing.

Daily lid hygiene is often suggested alongside other dry eye care. Explore the wider dry eye range or lubricating eye drops, and ask our team if you would like guidance.

Why eyelid hygiene matters

The glands along your eyelids help keep the tear film healthy. Gentle daily cleaning may help keep the lid margin clear of build-up, which can support overall eye comfort as part of a regular routine.

Think of it like any other part of a daily wash routine — a quick, gentle step that, done consistently, helps the eyelids stay clean and comfortable.

Using eyelid cleansers

Apply as directed, usually with a clean fingertip or pad along the closed lash line, then rinse if the product recommends it. Be gentle, avoid getting product directly in the eye, and use a fresh pad for each eye where relevant.

Many people find a warm compress beforehand makes cleansing more comfortable, softening any build-up before you gently wipe the lid margin.

What we stock

Our range features the OCuSoft LidScrub foams, including Original for everyday use and stronger Plus and Oust formulas. Each is designed for gentle daily lid care, and our team can help you choose between them based on how your eyes feel.

If you are new to lid hygiene, the Original foam is an easy starting point, with the option to step up to a stronger formula if your optometrist suggests it.

When to seek advice

Persistent redness, crusting, irritation or swelling of the eyelids should be checked by an optometrist, who can recommend the right routine. You can pair lid care with warm compresses and lubricating eye drops from our dry eye range where suitable, or book an assessment at one of our locations.
